Ghanaian gospel icon and revered songwriter, Kofi Owusu Dua Anto, better known in the music world as KODA, will finally be laid to rest tomorrow, Friday, September 20, 2024, following a five-month delay since his passing.
The funeral service will be held at the KICC Dominion Centre on Spintex Road in Accra, where family, friends, and well-wishers will gather to pay their last respects to the celebrated artist.
A private burial ceremony will follow shortly after.
Originally, KODA’s burial was slated for July 5, 2024, but unforeseen circumstances led to a postponement, moving the date to September 20.
KODA, who was 45 at the time of his death on Sunday, April 21, 2024, passed away after a brief illness. His passing sent shockwaves through the gospel community, where he was known for his powerful compositions and heartfelt performances.
He is survived by his wife and their three children, leaving behind a rich musical legacy that includes beloved hits such as “Nsempii,” “Nkwa Abodoo,” “Yapai,” and “Adorso.” His work continues to resonate with fans across the world, cementing his place as a pivotal figure in Ghana’s gospel music industry.
