Seasoned Ghanaian actress Rebecca Naa Ode Oku, popularly known as Adwoa Smart has revealed that persistent teasing during her school days ultimately led her to drop out.

Speaking on Channel One TV’s ‘UPSIDE DOWN’ with Frema Adunyame Adwoa Smart described how her small stature made her a target for relentless teasing from classmates, leaving her feeling isolated and unsupported.

Reflecting on her situation, she shared, “I stopped going to school because my mates were laughing at me because of my size.”

On why she couldn’t continue schooling in another school, the actress, known for her role in the popular series ‘Obra’ said, “It was beyond me…I was very young and couldn’t make decisions on my own…If it were to be now I would’ve continued”
The renowned thespian further expressed her disappointment with school authorities, stating, “The teachers didn’t help me at all. They were supposed to protect me, but they didn’t.” This lack of intervention contributed to her growing disinterest in school, as the ridicule took a significant emotional toll on her.
Adwoa Smart went on to express gratitude for her unique physical appearance. She believes that her diminutive stature has played a significant role in her success.
“I am very happy with the way God created me…Maybe if He hadn’t created me like this, I wouldn’t be a superstar,” she added.
