Brief history about the tree
Kubenta is a 3 branched coconut tree located at a small village in Akim Aperade in Achiase District, Eastern Region Ghana.
The tree was first a two branched coconut tree located at “COCOA AKƐSEƐM” first grown by Mr. Kofi Darko.
Mr. Kwaku Avornyo took a fruit from the tree to his village presently KUBENTA and planted it in the year 1974.
When years came by, the family observed that the tree their father grew has sprouted with 3 branches.
History about the tree says, a chief priest used the root of the tree to make women who could not give birth had children because of the power the tree had.
Many people used to come from different places to see the tree and tasted the fruits. Others carried them home to plant them.
