Real Madrid are set to sign Álvaro Carreras following their Club World Cup loss to PSG, with manager Xabi Alonso pushing for more signings this summer, according to Marca.
During the summer transfer window, Real Madrid granted their manager Xabi Alonso’s request. Marca claims that Álvaro Carreras won’t be Real Madrid’s final summer acquisition.
According to the report, the Los Blancos have agreed to Alonso’s request for additional signings.
This follows Real Madrid’s loss to Paris Saint-Germain at the Club World Cup. After the 2025 Club World Cup concludes on Sunday, Real Madrid hopes to make an announcement regarding Carreras’ signing.
Benfica and Real Madrid are both getting closer to signing Carreras.
At the age of 14, the 22-year-old defender left Deportivo La Coruna to join Real Madrid.
However, Carreras never played a meaningful role for the Premier League team after leaving Santiago Bernabeu to join Manchester United in 2020.
