Award-winning rapper Cardi B and Stefon Diggs, the star wide receiver for the New England Patriots, have reportedly gone their separate ways after dating for about a year.
A source confirmed the breakup to Us Weekly, saying the split happened just days before the Seattle Seahawks defeated the Patriots in the Super Bowl.
“They are always on and off. This isn’t the first time they’ve broken up,” the insider revealed, adding that things between the pair had become “too heated and complicated.”
A separate source told People that Cardi decided to step back once trust issues surfaced. According to the source, the rapper chose to refocus her energy on her children, music, and touring commitments.
Cardi, 33, had earlier drawn attention when she passionately celebrated the Patriots’ AFC Championship victory on January 25. However, her mood appeared noticeably different ahead of the February 8 Super Bowl. When an ESPNreporter asked her to share an encouraging message for Diggs, her expression reportedly changed, and she briefly wished him well before walking away.
Fueling speculation, the former couple also unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Diggs was later spotted in the company of a woman identified as Pree, who has previously been linked in reports to Offset, Cardi B’s former husband. Footage shared online showed Diggs greeting friends and family before the game, with Pree present on the field and reportedly having access to the team hotel.
Cardi appeared to address the breakup during a recent stop on her Little Miss Drama Tour in Los Angeles, strongly defending the father of her children and making it clear that personal boundaries should be respected.
Despite the split, sources say the Grammy-winning artiste is not dwelling on the breakup. “Cardi is single and feeling free,” one insider told Us Weekly, adding that her friends have long encouraged her to move on, believing she deserves better.
Another source told People that Cardi is prioritising stability for herself and her children, while noting that the connection with Diggs may not be completely over. “They co-parent, and the door isn’t fully closed. There’s a possibility they could reconnect in the future,” the source said.
Speculation about Cardi and Diggs dating first emerged in late 2024, shortly after Cardi filed for divorce from Offset. Cardi and Offset share three children: daughters Kulture and Blossom, and son Wave.
In September 2025, Cardi announced that she and Diggs were expecting their first child together. However, reports later emerged that shortly after the birth of their son in November, a paternity test revealed Diggs also had a young daughter with model Aileen Lopera.
