Head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Samuel Boadu has been sacked, odacitizen.com can confirm.
According to a press statement, Hearts of Oak Board Chairman, Togbe Afede had a meeting with Coach Samuel Boadu and told him the club wants a mutual termination of the contract.
The statement noted that at the meeting it was agreed that Coach Boadu’s backroom staff should stay away from training today.
“Samuel Nii Noi will manage the team until a new head coach is appointed.” The Statement stated
The Board of the Accra-based club is currently unhappy with recent results. Accra Hearts of Oak have not won any match since the start of the betPawa Ghana Premier League.
Boadu won the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League title in his first season at the club to end their 12-year wait to lift the giant trophy.
He also guided the Phobians to a famous double at the end of the season when he won the FA Cup against Obuasi Ashantigold SC.
But this year’s Ghana Premier League Season did not favour the former champions as the team could not even make the top four list.
The Phobians lost all last 4 matches: 1-0 to King Faisal, 2-1 to Eleven Wonders, 3-0 to Accra Great Olympics and painfully lost 4:1 to RTU.
Hearts of Oak hardly encounter a losing streak. This is one of the worst performances the team has recorded in many years.
