Ghanaian Musician Samini pleads with the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to step up and solve the economic crisis.
In a Facebook post, the head of the High Grade Family petitioned the president to address the indiscipline in his government. He noted that although he believed in the government to improve things for Ghanaians, his soul bleeds with the current situation.
“Dear @NAkufoAddo. I supported you to bring change and stability. I believed in the vision and your concept of change! But with 2 years to go, my soul bleeds. Our investments wash away daily as the dollar openly whips our Cedi. Your people are crying. We cannot pretend all is well.
“Ghana must work again! Where is the Nana Addo who begged us for the mandate?
The indiscipline in high and low places of government must be checked.”
Samini also asked Ghanaians to keep their faith alive and pray for better days. He requested the citizens to rely on their preserving strength as guidance through tough times.
“But if God has blessed Ghana with anything, it is our ability to stare difficulty right in the face and say, it will #bealright.
We go keep hope alive and continue to soldier on,” Samini continued. “What’s a man without hope? We can only continue to pray for a better tomorrow. To all my high graders out there, I say it again, we will #bealright!!!”
Samini joins other celebrities who supported and campaigned for the National Patriotic Party to win the past general elections as they advocate for better living standards for Ghanaians.
Yvonne Nelson, who lead the Dumsor Demo, and Prince David Osei, a vocal NPP loyalist, have all bemoaned the current state of affairs.
