A Tema High court has fined Ghanaian socialite, Afia Schwarzenegger GHC60,000, instead of her 10-day jail sentence. She will face a 2-year two jail if she defaults, the court order on January 31. 2023.
“She’s been detained by the Tema High court until she makes full payment of GHC60,000”, lawyer for the plaintiff, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw explained.
Delivering his Judgement, Justice Emmanuel Ankamah also ordered Afia Schwarzeneggar, to sign a bong of good behaviour for two years and as such, she’s been barred from any banter on social media for two years.
The controversial media personality, Afia Schwarzenegger was some few months back charged for contempt of court in her case involving Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi.
She was sentenced to a 10-day prison for contempt of court. According to reports, although a bench warrant was issued for the arrest of Afia Schwarzenegger, the media personality never served her sentence.
Her lawyers however, on December 20, 2022, moved a motion on notice for a variation of the sentence.
The Tema Circuit Court also fined Nana Ama McBrown, A Plus, Fadda Dickson and the Management of the United Showbiz program GHC 60, 000 each for contempt.
This comes Chairman Wontumi sued Nana Ama McBrown, Afia Schwarzenegger, Mr Aplus, Mr Logic and the Management of the United Showbiz Show for discussing on live TV a court case between Afia Schwarzenegger and Mr Chairman Wontumi.
