A twenty-one-year-old woman has been jailed six years in hard labour for stealing a four-year-old child in Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region.
This was after the Tafo Circuit Court presided over by Her Ladyship, Mrs. Lawrence Gyamfi found Priscilla Adutwumwaa was found guilty.
In court on Thursday, January 11, 2023, the prosecutor, Detective Inspector S.K. Oppong said, the complainant, Abena Owusuwaa who is a trader on December 16, 2023, informed the Mamponteng police of her missing four-year-old daughter.
According to him, Owusuwaa and her four-year-old daughter live in Mamponteng, whilst Adutwumwaa also lives in Kokofu.
The prosecutor added that, upon reporting the incident to the police an investigation was carried out in search of the missing child.
Detective Inspector Oppong noted that the investigations eventually led to the arrest of Adutwumwaa, who was found with the missing child at Adum, on January 3, 2024
