Kwame Baffoe, the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has urged the party’s funders to reveal the benefits they have received in exchange for their donations.
This would allow party members to perform a cost-benefit analysis of the claims made by these financiers, according to Baffoe, also known as Abronye DC.
“Some party members frequently brag about their contributions to the party without mentioning the benefits they’ve received in return,” Abronye DC said in an interview with Okay FM on July 16, 2025.
In order to demonstrate that the party has “the men,” he proposed that those people who claimed to have a significant stake in the party and might thus destroy it be confronted head-on and given a proper showdown.
“They always talk about the kinds of support they’ve given to the party, but they intentionally don’t mention what they’ve also benefited from the party because they’re financiers,” he said.
“If some think the party is for them and that they can destroy it, they should bring it on, and I will face them,” he added.
“…you always hear them on radio bragging about how they have helped the party without mentioning that they have gained from the party,” he continued.
According to Abronye, party members who say they have contributed money to the party ought to be questioned about the benefits they have received in exchange.
He clarified that this would assist partygoers in realizing that people who brag about their party expenditures have also benefited from favors.
He has promised to take on any party member who attempts to utilize their wealth to obtain unjustified favors from the party’s representatives without disclosing to them what they received in exchange.
Abronye has stated that he plans to run in the party’s presidential primary in the run-up to the general elections in 2028.
