Homicide detectives have arrested a 41-year-old woman for the deadly shooting that occurred overnight in east Columbus. Tyona Dodson is charged with murder in the death of Britney Boateng.
On November 21, 2022, at approximately 1 a.m., Columbus Police officers were dispatched to the 400 block of South Weyant Avenue on a report of a shooting. Officers arrived and found the 22-year-old victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Columbus Fire medics pronounced the victim dead a short time later. Investigators later determined an argument between both women led to the fatal shooting.
