The current Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) “Artiste of the Year,” Black Sherif, has garnered the admiration of many music enthusiasts, including award-winning Ghanaian gospel musician Cecilia Marfo.
In an exclusive interview with Accra’s Peace FM, the well-known gospel singer expressed her love for Black Sherif’s hit song “Soja,” calling herself a huge fan of the musician.
The crooner, known for her soul-stirring gospel songs, praised Black Sherif’s ‘Soja’ song’s lyrical depth and distinctive style. The hit song “Afunumu Ba” singer continued by saying that she hoped to one day offer prayers for her colleague in the music business.
”I like Black Sherif. I am a fan of his and will even want to pray for him. I fell in love with his Soja song the first time I heard it; in fact, I cried, and I told my husband to listen to the song. I love everything about that guy. “Whoever said he doesn’t know Christ, he knows Christ for himself,” she said.
To a greater extent than not, Cecilia Marfo believed that secular music was acceptable because all musicians used their art to better society and the quality of human existence. The unexpected support of a major figure in gospel music, such as Cecilia Marfo, highlights how appealing Black Sherif’s music is to listeners of all genres.
