Nottingham Forest’s Andre Ayew has lamented the condition of his national teammate, Christian Atsu, who has been missing under the rubble since after the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
The Ghana International expressed his sadness at the earthquake as Atsu remains missing.
Atsu, a former Premier League footballer, has still not been found after a devastating national disaster.
Savut Taner, Hatayspors sporting director, was among those buried in the rubble days after the disaster.
Over 12,000 people have been confirmed killed across Turkey and Syria.
“I’m very sad, I’m very down,” Ayew told reporters on Friday. “Such a beautiful country, beautiful people, there are no words to describe how I feel.
“With Christian Atsu’s situation, it has been difficult the last few days. We have been trying to get hold of him and his family and we are praying that he will be good, he will be OK.”
“The whole of Ghana is praying for him.”
