Lilwin’s latest film, “A Country Called Ghana,” has secured a nomination in the prestigious 2024 Black Star International Film Festival.
This marks the latest in a series of nominations since the movie’s first premiere at the National Theater on May 17, 2024.
The Black Star International Film Festival, held annually in Accra, Ghana, celebrates African filmmakers and provides a platform for showcasing their work to a global audience.
The news of this nomination offers a glimmer of hope for Lilwin, especially following the tragic accident in Kumasi before the film’s premiere there, which resulted in the sad demise of a 3-year-old boy.
The film, directed by Frank Fiifi Gharbin and executively produced by Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin, is a Ghana-Nigeria collaboration featuring renowned actors such as Ramsey Nouah, Charles Awurum, Victor Osuagwu (Awilo Sharp Sharp), Paa George, and Sweet Mimi. The movie’s global recognition has led to a cinema distribution deal and screenings worldwide, including nominations in Germany, New Zealand, IMO International, and the Nollywood Film Festival.
