Lawyer for controversial televangelist Nana Agradaa, also known as Patricia Asiedua, has disclosed that his client is likely to regain her freedom on March 3, 2026, following a recent High Court decision that reviewed her sentence.
Speaking during an interview on Starr FM on February 9, 2026, Agradaa’s lawyer, Richard Asare Baffour, explained that the Amasaman High Court revised the preacher’s earlier 15-year jail term, reducing it to 12 months after ruling that the original sentence was overly severe.
Baffour took time to clarify how Ghana’s prison remission system operates, stating that inmates who demonstrate good behaviour are eligible for sentence reduction.
“The earliest date she can be released is March 3, which is next month. In Ghana, when a custodial sentence is imposed, there is a remission policy. If you qualify, the sentence is divided into three parts — the state takes one-third, while the inmate serves two-thirds,” he explained.
This remission framework means Nana Agradaa would only be required to serve eight months of the revised 12-month sentence if she qualifies.

According to Baffour, the preacher has already completed approximately seven months of the recalculated term, which takes effect from July 2025, when she was originally convicted.
“So by March 3, she should be released,” he reiterated.
Despite welcoming the reduced sentence, the lawyer noted that the defence team is not entirely satisfied with the outcome of the appeal. He maintained that there were procedural irregularities during the trial and stressed that the team would have pursued further legal action even if the sentence had been slightly altered.
Nana Agradaa was convicted in July 2025 on charges of charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretence, after prosecutors accused her of running a money-doubling scheme through her church.
While the Amasaman High Court upheld the conviction, it ruled earlier this month that the original 15-year sentence was excessive and accordingly slashed the custodial term.
