Russian Man ‘Yaytseslav’ Faces Backlash Over Videos Involving Ghanaian Women

From February 12 to 13, 2026, Ghanaian social media—particularly X—has been dominated by a growing controversy involving a man who claims to be Russian and identifies himself as Yaytseslav.

The individual has come under intense online criticism after videos surfaced showing his interactions with several Ghanaian women, triggering widespread debate over privacy, consent, and content monetisation.

Encounters at Accra Mall shared online

In videos circulating across multiple platforms, Yaytseslav is frequently seen at Accra Mall, where he approaches shoppers—mostly women—engages them in conversation, and records the interactions.

According to numerous social media posts, he allegedly convinces some of the women to exchange contact details, with several later visiting his apartment. These encounters, from first contact to more private settings, are reportedly documented and repurposed as online content.

TikTok, YouTube and paid Telegram access

The alleged Russian content creator operates active accounts on TikTok and YouTube, where he uploads edited, summary-style videos of his encounters.

Social media users estimate that about 40 videos involving Ghanaian women are currently available across these public platforms.

Beyond the publicly accessible content, he is also said to run a private subscription-based channel on Telegram. Access to the channel reportedly costs about 400 Russian rubles, roughly $5 per month.

Subscribers are said to receive longer videos that are not permitted on YouTube, including footage recorded inside his apartment and detailed accounts of his outings with the women.

Video involving woman identified as Angela draws concern

One video that has intensified public outrage features a woman identified online as Angela, whom Yaytseslav reportedly met at the mall.

She is later seen at his residence wrapped in a towel—a scene many social media users have described as deeply concerning and inappropriate, given questions surrounding consent and distribution.

Calls for police intervention grow

The controversy has sparked heated reactions online, with many calling on the Ghana Police Service to investigate the matter.

“Bro, Ghanaian women are very cheap. Ghana Police need to step in and deal with this Russian man immediately,” one user wrote.

Another commented, “The Russian guy nu, it’s not only Ghanaian women. He has done this to Russian women, South Africans, Americans, Nigerians and many others. The guy is definitely up to something.”

Others criticised the narrative blaming the women involved.

“A foreigner took advantage of unassuming women, recorded sensitive interactions, and released them online, yet some people are framing it as exposure. The journey is long wallahi,” a user wrote.

Debate shifts to consent and online exploitation

As discussions continue, the incident has reignited broader conversations about digital ethics, informed consent, and the vulnerability of individuals in the era of monetised social media content.

As of now, no official statement has been issued by authorities, but public pressure continues to mount for action.
