Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale has been billed to perform at the 40th International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) in 2023.
The 2023 IRAWMA anniversary is themed “Reggae Rising” in honour of the Reggae-Dancehall genre’s outstanding contribution to the evolution of Jamaican music over the last fifty years.
The event will take place on Sunday, May 7th, 2023, at the Pegasus Hotel in Kingston, Jamaica, with a live media press conference.
This year’s event has 135 nominees, including special honours and awardees, who are competing for over 32 categories and the ultimate award in 2022-2023.
Multiple award-winning Ghanaian dancehall musician, Shatta Wale who has been nominated in the “African reggae artist” category will be performing alongside Burna Boy, DJ Khaled, Gramps Morgan, Popcaan, Sean Paul, Koffe, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Shenseea.
Other artists nominated and slated for performances include Capleton, Skillibeng, Masicka, Popcaan, Shaggy, Sizzla, Ding Dong, Damian Marley, Kabaka, Etana, Skeng, Dexta Daps, Spice, and more
