Ghanaian socialite Shugatiti whose real name is Abena Serwaa Frimpong has sparked a heated debate online with her latest controversial statements.
In a recent interview, Shugatiti asserts that there are lot of job opportunities in Ghana, but many ‘youths are very lazy’ to take advantage of them.
She made this claim while discussing her experiences with her newly opened restaurant, highlighting the lackluster work ethic she observed in some of her former employees.
According to Shugatiti, Ghanaian youths often demonstrate a lack of initiative and drive.
She notes that while some employees may work diligently for the first two or three days to prove themselves, their efforts tend to dwindle significantly after that initial period.
Shugatiti further criticizes the youth for being overly focused on making quick money rather than putting in the necessary effort to achieve long term success.
“The Ghanaian youth are very lazy. I realized this when I started my own business. You can hire someone today, and they will work hard for three or four days, but then their performance drops, even though they know their duties and responsibilities. When you point out their shortcomings, they get angry,” she remarked.
She also highlights on the perception among some of her workers that her luxurious lifestyle is funded by a “sugar daddy,” rather than hard work.
Shugatiti expresses frustration with the mentality of some youths who prefer to sit idly at work but still expect to be paid at the end of the month.
She adds that their attitude is common complaint among her colleagues who are also own companies after employing them.
“The youths always want to sit idle when they come to work, but they want to be paid at the end of the month when you punish them for their misbehaviour and they quit working. Some of my coworkers’ friends have also been protesting with the same attitude they display after getting employed, so that is what they have been doing — she concluded
