Internet users have been shocked by Donald Trump’s surprise remarks on the deportation of US citizens.

Trump has been working hard on a plan to crack down on illegal immigration since he returned to office, and it was one of his primary policies during the election campaign last year.

Due to its location at an abandoned airstrip in the middle of a Miami swamp, the 47th President of the United States dubbed the proposed new immigration center in Florida “Alligator Alcatraz” when he presented its blueprints earlier this week.

On Tuesday, July 1, Trump paid a visit to the center, which prompted many online users to highlight a disturbing aspect of the president’s visit. Speaking to the media while on a trip to the Everglades, the Republican president unexpectedly threatened a certain segment of the American populace.

“We also have a lot of bad people that have been here for a long time,” Trump said. “They’re not new to our country. They’re old to our country. Many of them were born in our country. I think we ought to get them the hell out of here, too, if you want to know the truth.

“So maybe that will be the next job.”

The astonishing interview is doing the rounds on social media, and it’s fair to say much of the internet has been left stunned by Trump’s recent comments.

“I don’t think I will ever understand how we got here,” one person penned on Reddit.

A second added, “A convicted felon talking about ‘bad people’ is the definition of rich,” while a third remarked, “He is showing an instability never once shown by a US president.”

Speaking further to the press on Tuesday, Trump said he would like to see similar centers in ‘really, many states’ across the US.

He added, “Pretty soon, this facility will handle the most menacing migrants, some of the most vicious people on the planet. The only way out, really, is deportation.”

Before arriving at the center, Trump joked about migrants being held there, saying:

“We’re going to teach them how to run away from an alligator if they escape prison.”

“Don’t run in a straight line. Run like this,” the president added, as he moved his hand in a zigzag motion.

Never a dull day in the world of Donald Trump as president, is there?
