Yaw Dabo, an actor from Kumawood, has expressed his opinions over a widely publicised video that shows military soldiers monitoring applicants at the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

Yaw Dabo voiced his dissatisfaction with the Ghana Education Service (GES) in a video that was uploaded on X on August 27, 2025.

He claimed that the applicants were becoming anxious due to the presence of military officers and certain GES officials.

“I have seen a video online and I am saddened by it.

Has it gotten to the point where they are using military personnel as invigilators during WASSCE?

“The man in the video, going up and down, checking what they have written, is causing fear and panic. How can they have a sound mind to write their papers?” he said.

Yaw Dabo further noted that the Ghana Education Service (GES) should stop mounting pressure on the candidates.

“Everyone has cheated during exams, including the police and the fire service. You people should stop putting pressure on these kids.

“This thing doesn’t happen to kids abroad. Most of these kids won’t get jobs to do even if they pass or not,” he added.
