Ghanaian highlife and Afrobeats singer/songwriter, Kuami Eugene has revealed that he is been behind a lot of hit songs in the country, yet, he has received no credit.
In a yet to be aired interview with Kojo Manuel, the Lynx Entertainment signee said he has contributed, through his songwriting talent, to creating some of the biggest songs in Ghana, yet he has not received credit or even a penny from the people he made the hits for.
“It’s not fair, they don’t think he’ll let it go, yeah and more people take do me, there are many hits in the country and the people really made money out of it but u didn’t even have 1 cedi but I wrote the hook,” he said.
According to Kuami Eugene, he was young and emerging in the music industry so there are some songs he did out of love for few artists, but he believes it is time for the people to pay their dues.
“And some of them know and it’s not fair, I was emerging so it’s understandable and I wrote some of them out of love, like I am obsessed with this Celebrity I do it but right I’m in my seventh year in the industry, you’re still trying to dupe,” he added.
