Ghanaian Veteran Gospel Musician, Esther Smith was born in the early 1970’s in suane, Kumasi and she started her music career at the age of 14 by joining the Tesano Methodist church choir.She wrote her first song in the early 1990s, titled “Ewurade Wo Din No Hyeren”.
– Her first album “Gye No Di” was a huge success and won her several awards at the 2003 Ghana Music Awards.
– She won awards for Gospel Album of the Year, Gospel Artiste of the Year and Best Female Vocal Performance of the Year.
– She also won awards for Best Gospel Album of the Year, Best Song of the Year and the Best Album of the year at the 2004 GMA.
– She is considered one of the pioneers of contemporary gospel music in Ghana.
