Great Ampong Finally Releases His ‘Controversial’ Song, “Nyame Akatua” – Check It Out

Ghanaian gospel musician, Great Ampong has finally released his new song which was initially perceived to be a diss song for legendary highlife musician, Daddy Lumba.

The song which is titled “Onyame Akatua” (Osisifo) was released in the early hours of Thursday, January 26, 2022.

It is produced by renowned sound engineer, Roro Buddy.

Prior to the release of the song, they were many controversies in the media space.

In one of the interviews he granted on Happy FM prior to the release of the song, Ampong stated emohactically that he was releasing it as a response to Daddy Lumba’s “Ofon Na Edi Asem Fo” because he was reliably informed that the lyrics were directed at him.

When he was however interviewed on Power FM, the “Hosanna” hitmaker countered his earlier statement and said that Lumba is not the target of his song and that he wouldn’t shy away from mentioning him if he was indeed the one.

“I can compose a song and have his name in it because I have composed songs for people. Some people approach me to compose songs for their dead relatives and I do. I take the deceased’s name and details and then compose the song.

“I could have mentioned his name and the song was more than three to four minutes long but you never heard any name,” he stated.
