I Don’t Allow Negativity Affect Me When I’m About To Perform- Samini

Award-winning Ghanaian musician, Emmanuel Andrews Samini, professionally known as Samini has always been known for his positive outlook on life and unwavering determination.

He has revealed a powerful mindset that has propelled him to success throughout his career: negativity can’t affect him when he is about to perform.

The ‘Linda’ hitmaker who has graced numerous stages and entertained audiences worldwide, acknowledges that negativity exists in every aspect of life, including the entertainment fraternity. However, he firmly believes that allowing negativity to infiltrate his mind and spirit before a performance would only hinder his ability to deliver a remarkable show.

During an interview with Kwame Dadzie on Twitter Spaces, Samini shared that once he takes hold of the microphone, he transcends into a realm where all his troubles fade away. According to the former SRC president of GIMPA , the mind is a powerful weapon, and its use determines the outcome.

I have a creative box, and nothing negative goes in there. So when it’s time to prepare for a performance or studio recording, and I am in that box, whatever negativity is present has its barriers. It can’t affect me until I’ve completed my task,” he noted.

The crooner who doubles as a song-writer further stated that everyone involved in performance carries personal issues but once they step on stage, they release all the negative energy and enter a state of ecstasy. When asked about concerns regarding repetitive performances on different shows, Samini expressed his desire to introduce new dynamics to his performances to avoid sounding monotonous.

“As an artiste, you sometimes long for change, something new, something spectacular. This way, even those who have attended one or two of your shows can experience a wow factor, ” he averred.
