Fella Makafui, a prominent social media influencer and actress, has been apprehended for her involvement in marketing unregistered flat tummy drugs. The arrest was made by Akwasi Koranteng, Lead Investigator for iSPYGh 247, in collaboration with the Pharmacy Council Ghana.
The operation culminated yesterday, May 22, 2024, following six months of meticulous surveillance by Koranteng and his team of undercover investigative journalists. They monitored Makafui’s social media activities on platforms such as TikTok and Instagram, gathering substantial evidence of her unlawful actions, which included:
– Selling unregistered drugs
– False advertising
– Publishing unapproved adverts by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA)
Upon her arrest, a variety of products were seized from her shop in Mempeasem, including:
1. Fertility Tea (Fibroid and Womb Tea)
2. Butt and Hips Enlargement Syrup
3. Butt and Hip Enlargement Oil
4. Booty Cream
5. Booty Scrub
6. Hip and Big Butt Tea
7. Breast Firming and Enlargement Cream
8. Vagina Detox Pearls
9. Male Sexual Vitality Tea
10. Spice Herbal Infection Mixture
11. Yoni Wash Gel
12. Orgasmic Gel
13. Weight Gain Syrup
14. Spice Coded Powder
15. Tiger Herbal Mixture
16. Sweet Drip Honey
During questioning, Makafui admitted that many of the drugs she sold were not registered by the FDA. She has since been granted bail.
This joint operation underscores the commitment of both iSPYGh 247 and the Pharmacy Council Ghana to protect the public from harmful and unapproved products, ensuring the highest standards of pharmaceutical care and compliance with regulatory requirements.
