Tariq Lamptey watches Ghana beat Madagascar in Cape CoastÂ
Brighton and Hove Albion defender Tariq Lamptey was spotted watching 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifier between Ghana and Madagascar.
The 21-year old was in the VIP section of the Cape Coast Sports Stadium watching the Black Stars play Madagascar on Wednesday evening.
Lamptey has been a target for Ghana ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after turning down invitation to the England U21 team.
Earlier reports say Tariq Lamptey is on the verge of switching nationality to play for Ghana at the World Cup in Qatar.
It is believed that the defender and his representatives have held a meeting with the top hierarchy at the Ghana Football Association over a possible nationality switch.
Meanwhile, Ghana defeated Madagascar 3:0 in the 2023 AFCON qualifier at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium this evening with Kudus Mohammed, Felix Afena-Gyan and Osman Bukari scoring the goals.
The team will travel to play Central African Republic in second game of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers before traveling to Japan for a four-nation tournament.
