A Medical Officer with the St. Francis-Xavier Hospital in Assin-Fosu within the Central Region, has died in a gory crash at Anwiaso (Adansi Asokwa District), Ashanti Region:

The deceased, Dr. Patrick Yamoah, a gynecologist cum lecturer at the University of Cape Coast Medical School, was travelling from Assin-Fosu in the direction of Kumasi when the incident occurred.

His Nissan Versa automotive with registration number AW-1514-22, collided head-on with a petroleum tanker with registration number GT-8679-22. The tanker was travelling from Wassa Akropong heading in the direction of Assin-Fosu.

According to eyewitnesses, the tanker driver was driving carelessly – “he nearly killed a pragya [auto rickshaw] rider at Asokwa Junction, so we are not surprised about the accident”.
