Achiase Senior High School, located in the Achiase Constituency of the Eastern region, has emerged as the first runner-up for this year’s 67th National Independence What Do You Know Quiz Contest. The Schools which made it to the final were; Nsutaman Catholic SHS, Kintampo SHS, Damango SHS, and Achiase SHS.

Final Results
_Nsutaman Catholic SHS – 28 pts_
_Achiase SHS – 23 pts_
_Kintampo SHS – 19pts_
_Damango SHS – 12 pts_
Achiase SHS has won the Eastern regional Independence Day Quiz contest for two consecutive times(2022, 2023).
Achiase SHS has also won the Oda Zone Independence Day contest four times in a row with a record of very wide points.
In 2022 at the Regional level, the scool won with 110 pts against 41 pts for the school which placed 2nd. This has been a record in the history of this competition in the Eastern region. This record, however, was broken again by themselves in 2023, with another whopping record of 158, and further emerging as champions in the super zonal contest which comprised champions from Greater Accra, Volta, Eastern, and Oti regions.
According to the head Coach of the Quiz Team, Mr Richmond Okyere, the secret behind their successes over the years has been Hardwork, Determination, and Prayers. He is the vibrant “What Do You Know” quiz coach in the region right now, setting and breaking his own record every year. ACHISEC now holds the record of being the first school within the Oda enclave to reach the National Independence Quiz final.
The head Coach commended the Headmaster, Mr. Eric Amoah for transforming ACHISEC academically and for his relentless direction and support towards the team.
All these achievements have been attained under his purview and auspices.
He further expressed his profound gratitude to the Honourable Member of Parliament for Achiase Constituency, Hon. Kofi Ahenkorah Marfo, and the DCE, Hon Richmond Agyabeng for their consistent financial support in appreciable amounts given the Quiz team.
Achiase SHS has undergone a massive transformation since Mr. Eric Amoah assumed office as the Headmaster. Last year, 2023, the school presented about 800 students for WASSCE and more than 700 of them qualified for Tertiary Education without having to sit again for Nov /Dec.
ACHISEC has also been selected as one of the top 10 most disciplined schools in the country and all these quiz titles have been won under the watch of Mr. Eric Amoah as the Headmaster of the school.
