Eastern Region: Five Perished in Gory Accident at Fanteakwa
Five persons have died in an accident that occurred at Akrumusu on the Begoro-Osiem Road in the Fanteakwa North District of the Eastern Region.
The Eastern Regional Police Command’s Public Affairs Officer, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, confirmed the accident.
Information from him indicates that a 28-seater Benz bus with registration number GR 4074-E loaded with charcoal and maize fell into a ditch while negotiating a sharp curve near Akrumusu village.
Five persons were stuck in the vehicle but the driver and one other person were rescued.
Later on, the five were rescued and rushed to the Begoro Government Hospital but were pronounced dead.
The bodies have been deposited at the hospital for autopsy and preservation.
The police says efforts are being made to tow the accident vehicle.
